A captivating reworking of a track taken from the award-winning debut album, the song THIS has been revisited by producer Mark Freegard in his Glasgow home studio, to dramatic effect.

 

Amplifying the brooding darkness of the original song, Mark’s use of synths influenced by human breathe allows the song to take on a trance-like quality and sees Elaine’s exquisite vocals taking centre stage. 

 

Where THIS championed a classic singer-songwriter sound, featuring guitar and bass, THIS – The ‘21 Remix has developed into something very current, with a sense of drama, akin to the sound of American electropop singer-songwriter Ruelle.

Elaine said: “With this track I wanted to really stretch the musical landscape and push the boundaries of what the song was capable of becoming. I’m thrilled with the tremendous cinematic feel that Mark has created.”
