ELAINE LENNON BIO

Singer-songwriter, TEDx Speaker and Creator & Host of The Homebird Sessions, Lennon won Creative Scotland support for her Debut Album, released at Celtic Connections 2020 and later awarded Celtic Music Radio 'Album of the Year'.

Since starting her musical career in 2018 she has added a Nashville Songwriter’s ‘One to Watch’ and ‘Danny Kyle’ Award to her CV, has hosted & performed at major UK Festivals, Nashville's Bluebird Cafe & has opened for artists including Scottish Folk icon Rab Noakes & international artists including Eric Paslay.

Featured on BBC Radio, TED.com, Mummy Jojo Uncut, Songwriters & Composers Magazine Scotland & Celtic Connections, her music has won her comparisons to Lori McKenna, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Annie Lennox, Carole King, Nina Simone and Adele. This Cumbernauld mum has created her own musical tapestry, linking her unique blend of old and new with her distinctive vocal and style. Supported by a raft of talent including Boo Hewerdine, Karine Polwart, Siobhan Miller, Yvonne Lyon, Findlay Napier, Chris While, Elaine’s 2020 charity single 'UNCHARTED WATERS' raised funds for the paediatric Ward at University Hospital Wishaw where her son was treated to remove a benign tumour.

Her on-line lockdown show The Homebird Sessions is now a live touring show in which Lennon is in concert and conversation with some of the finest UK & International songwriters, her first live guests being Yvonne Lyon and Boo Hewerdine. In addition to an audience Q&A section, the Show also provides a Showcase Artist slot to welcome aspiring writers to the live stage.

With BLABBER ’N SMOKE naming her ”One of the most in demand performers on the Glasgow music scene”, her live performances have been dubbed by many as ‘not to be missed’.

Elaine is currently writing, with funding from Help Musicians UK, with a view to releasing more music in 2022 with producer Boo Hewerdine.
