Elaine Lennon at TEDx
Looking to energise and uplift your audience with a message that truly resonates?
Book Elaine Lennon—TEDx speaker, award-winning singer-songwriter, and passionate educator—for a motivational talk that blends raw honesty, music, and powerful storytelling.
In her TEDx Talk Little Bird Little Sailor, Elaine shares her personal journey from physical challenges to international acclaim, using her original song to inspire others to believe in their own potential.
Her mantra—“Time to see of what you are made”—isn’t just a lyric, it’s a call to action. As a female entrepreneur and creative force, she speaks with authenticity about resilience, reinvention, and pursuing your dreams at any stage of life.
Invited back to the TEDx stage in 2021, Elaine performed The Light—the first song ever written specifically for and debuted at a TEDx event—co-written and produced with fellow artists Yvonne Lyon and Adriana Spina. This anthem of hope, created in response to the isolation and grief of the pandemic, was celebrated on BBC Radio and released under her own Little Sailor Records label. With the sole purpose of motivating others to follow their dreams and find ways to achieve them, no matter what challenges stand in their ways, Elaine shared with refreshing honesty, her story of paying attention to the guidance of that 'little voice inside', overcoming not only life changing injuries sustained in a car crash but also overcoming her own personal fears of not being 'good enough'.
She shares how she finally took action and worked hard to achieve her dreams, finding ways to live with the chronic pain, HMS and fibromyalgia resulting from injuries she sustained dint he crash, and how she manages to navigate through life now in the world of music. Through sharing her story in an honest, positive and motivational way she truly inspires others with her words and her songs."

I will always be grateful for having the opportunity to be mentored by, this amazing lady. She helped and inspired me so much!'

'I had some writing knowledge and experience but not a lot. Elaine's clear, firm, yet compassionate teaching style allowed me to learn so much from our sessions. Everything we discussed in the sessions was written up in easy-to-digest documents for me to review in my own time allowing me to continue my learning between sessions and really feel like / was advancing each time we met.
Since our sessions finished, Elaine and I have kept in contact and she is always so encouraging and supportive of all that I do. I have since co-written a couple of songs and I am really happy to say that my current release reached Number 1 in the iTunes
Country Music charts! Thank you Elaine for all of your support, inside and outside of the sessions.'

'If Elaine Lennon can't inspire you to work on your songwriting, no-one can. I interviewed Elaine for the Songwriting Magic course. In this excerpt Elaine talks about writing the song, Fear (Breakup Song). She reveals both the message of the song and her writing process: dispensing tips, techniques and insights - in a way few can express so clearly.
Elaine's songwriting process isn't hindered by her busy family life, on the contrary it is crucial to adding that extra magic - that all great songs need.
Elaine Lennon is a breath of fresh air for songwriters: I'm confident that you will learn something valuable from this video.'

MAKING MUSIC THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE
Songwriting Projects in Glasgow Schools

Looking for an unforgettable way to ignite creativity and confidence in your pupils while supporting GIRFEC or UNICEF Rights Respecting Schools goals? Elaine Lennon’s Songs in Schools programme offers a powerful, hands-on experience that blends music, literacy, STEM learning, and emotional wellbeing into one inspiring package.
Her award-winning songwriting workshops have already led to chart success—her first project, Christmas Time, written with a North Lanarkshire primary school, reached No.1 on the iTunes Singer-Songwriter Chart and her last two projects with North Lanarkshire Primary Schools were awarded 5-star UK Songwriting Contest ratings (backed by The Brit Awards)!

Created as part of a STEM-based education workshop, Christmas Time captures the magic of the season with Elaine’s vocals nestled alongside touching solos from 10 of the 40 children she co-wrote the song with. The children were involved at every stage—from lyric writing and vocal recording in Elaine’s home studio, to learning about digital audio, WAV forms, and even the release process through her Little Sailor Records label. The song was mixed and mastered by Derek O’Neil (King Creosote) at Chem19 Studios, and was performed live at Cumbernauld Theatre as part of Elaine’s Homebird Sessions show with special guest HORSE McDonald.

This once-in-a-lifetime project also featured student-created artwork by 11-year-old Matthew Carroll, who worked from a professional brief and delivered the final design used on the release. Pupils gained real-world experience in songwriting, production, teamwork, communication, business, marketing, and performance—with incredible, lasting results.

STEM Songwriting Workshop
'As part of Scottish Education’s ‘STEM’ week I was invited back to school to talk about songwriting with some special little ones!
The kids (aged 5-8 years) were so enthusiastic!
We made a ‘band’ with drummers and backing singers...they even named it ‘The Dragonflies’ (cool name!).
Together we wrote and performed a song about their class topic KATY MORAG - they were all so engaged and involved!

One little girl in was so inspired by the songwriting that she took it upon herself to go home that night and write her very first song about birds! WOW! I was so impressed by this 8-year-old’s effort that I asked her mum if could share her lyrics with you!
Well done Stella! Isn’t it amazing how giving up a little of your time to nurture the minds of kids can have such a ripple effect?
I have so much admiration for all those teachers who have chosen to inspire little minds every day.'
