Holy Cross Primary Rights Respecting Song

INTRO:

(I got what it takes, what it takes, what it takes, I got it) R then L foot tapping, both thumbs point at your chest

(I got what it takes, what it takes, what it takes, I got it) R then L foot tapping, arms in small circles

(I got what it takes, what it takes, what it takes, I got it) R then L foot tapping, both thumbs point at your chest

(I got what it takes, what it takes) Both arms pointing down with palms open to audience

VERSE 1 Hands on hips (superman pose!)

I decided today is gonna be a great day Slowly raise arms up in the air then bring them back down

Got a safe place to learn how to make dreams come true Arms from middle in front of you to wide out, nod head

With hope in my heart, like a pocket full of sunshine Hands in heart shape over your heart, raise heart hands up to above your head

Got a spring in my step like the first day of school Left hand Right leg alternate stepping on the spot

PRE-CHORUS 1

And all my friends are coming with me point at the audience then make a 'come here' gesture with your hands

The Universe will hear us sing! Slowly raise arms out and up in the air then bring them back down

CHORUS 1

I got the right (I got the right) I got the right to be free R then L foot tapping, both thumbs point at your chest

Accepted and loved, for just being me Give yourself a hug then strike a 'being me' pose /pointing at yourself

Somewhere I belong, feel strong, get it wrong and learn from my mistakes self hug, strong arms, 'shake it off' move on left then right shoulder then hands

I know. I’ve got what it takes Point at yourself

Front Row: bend down and encourage audience to sing I got what it takes hook, Back Row: wave arms in the air starting left then right and sing the 'woohooo' parts)

(I got what it takes, what it takes, what it takes, I got it)

VERSE 2

So if you ever feel like you’re having a bad day Hands on hips, left arm out, right arm out, hands swirl at side of head

I’ll be here to listen and show you I care Hands to ear to show you are listening, self hug

Our Little Hearts can make big changes Hands in heart shape over your heart, raise heart hands up to above your head

Remember you’re special in your own way Point at audience with right hand, arm out, then turn your palm up and lower your arm

PRE-CHORUS 2

Listen to all the joy you bring Slowly raise arms out and up in the air then bring them back down

When you raise up your heart and sing  Slowly raise arms out and up again in the air and keep them up until next move
