Bringing The Life Compass™ to you and your people.
Wellbeing, resilience, focus, connection and more sustainable ways of living and working.
Work can be demanding.
People are navigating pressure, change, uncertainty, competing priorities, caring responsibilities, different stages of life and an increasingly noisy world — often while being expected to keep performing as though
none of it is happening.
The Life Compass™ offers a different way to approach the human side of work and life.
Not another tick-box wellbeing initiative.
Not a one-off motivational talk that disappears as soon as everyone leaves the room.
And not a promise to make difficult things disappear.
Instead, I create thoughtful experiences that give people space to pause, notice what is happening, understand themselves and their circumstances more clearly, and consider what they might do next.
Through talks, workshops, movement, music, creativity, reflective practice and wellbeing education, I help people develop practical ways to navigate pressure, change and uncertainty — with greater awareness, resilience, clarity and capacity.
Because wellbeing is not an event.
It is something we cultivate together.
A different kind of wellbeing experience
The Life Compass™ sits at the intersection of wellbeing, creativity, human development and lived experience.
My work isn't about telling people how they should live.
It is about creating the conditions for people to stop for a moment and ask better questions.
What is happening here?
What do I actually need?
What can I influence?
What needs to change?
What might I need to let go of?
And perhaps:
What is the next right step from where I actually am?
That is where my Notice → Understand → Respond™ approach comes in.
It gives people a simple way to move from awareness, through understanding, towards more conscious action.
The result is work that is practical and reflective, but also human.
And because no two organisations, communities or groups are exactly alike, I don't believe in forcing everyone through the same programme.
More than a speaker. More than a workshop.
I'm an award-winning Scottish singer-songwriter, TEDx speaker, educator and wellbeing practitioner.
My professional life has taken me from business and HR to university classrooms, from concert stages and recording studios to yoga spaces, community projects and creative-health settings.
I've spoken twice at TEDx, created and performed original music for TEDx, taught, facilitated, toured, written, coached and developed my own body of work through The Life Compass™.
My second TEDx invitation led to the creation of The Light — an original song co-written and produced specifically for the event and believed to be the first song written specifically for and premiered at a TEDx event.
But the experience I bring isn't simply a collection of qualifications or achievements.
It is the ability to connect things that are often kept separate.
Story and strategy.
Thinking and feeling.
Body and mind.
Music and wellbeing.
Creativity and reflection.
Professional experience and lived experience.
I use those connections to create experiences that people can actually engage with.
Sometimes that means a powerful story.
Sometimes it means a room becoming unexpectedly quiet.
Sometimes it means moving, breathing, laughing, writing, listening to music or simply having enough space to think.
And sometimes one small shift in perspective is enough to start a different conversation.
What can we create together?
There are several ways organisations can work with The Life Compass™.
Talks & keynote experiences

Themes can include:

More participatory sessions giving people time to reflect, explore and put ideas into practice.
These can explore areas such as:
-
stress and overwhelm

navigating change
Yoga & embodied wellbeing
Accessible, inclusive movement and embodied wellbeing experiences designed around the people in the room — rather than around performance or a particular yoga culture.
Sessions can be adapted for workplaces, studios, organisations, events and community settings.
Creative Health & music-led projects
Music can reach people in ways that conventional wellbeing language sometimes cannot.
Through live music, songwriting, storytelling, creative participation and collaborative experiences, I develop projects that can support connection, expression, confidence, communication, participation and wellbeing.
This work can sit within Creative Health, cultural programmes, community initiatives, schools, councils and arts organisations.
Bespoke programmes
Sometimes the need is bigger than a single session.
The Life Compass™ can be shaped into a series of experiences around a particular theme, group, organisation or period of change.
That might mean a short programme, a series of workshops, seasonal wellbeing activity or something developed specifically around your people and your context.
Commissioned projects & collaborations
Some of the most interesting work starts with an idea that doesn't fit neatly into a box.
A creative-health commission.
A community project.
A cultural collaboration.
A wellbeing initiative.
A new way of bringing music, creativity and human connection into an existing setting.
If you have an idea but haven't quite worked out what it looks like yet, that's a perfectly good place to start.

-
Small businesses and sole traders
-
Creating space for the people behind the business to think, reset and work more sustainably.
-
Schools and education
-
Bringing creativity, reflection, wellbeing and human connection into learning environments.
-
Councils and community organisations
-
Developing accessible experiences that meet people where they are.
-
Arts and cultural organisations
-
Exploring the relationship between creativity, identity, connection and wellbeing.
-
Studios, wellbeing centres and retreats
-

-
Creative Health partnerships
-
Developing music-led and creative approaches within health, community and cultural settings.
The setting may change.
The principle doesn't.
Start with people.
Understand the context.
Then create something that fits.
From one experience to something more
Sometimes a single experience is exactly what is needed.
A conference talk.
A wellbeing day.
A team workshop.
A yoga session.
A community project.
A creative-health commission.
And sometimes that first experience opens up a bigger conversation.
Perhaps there is a particular challenge your people are navigating.
Perhaps wellbeing needs to become part of the culture rather than another item on the calendar.
Perhaps you want to explore a creative approach but don't yet know what that could look like.
Or perhaps you simply want to work with someone who can bring together wellbeing, creativity, music, education and human experience in a way that feels genuine.
That is where partnership becomes interesting.
I am interested in developing relationships rather than simply delivering transactions.
That might mean a short programme, an ongoing series, a commissioned project or a longer-term collaboration.
The work can grow from what is actually needed.
Why Elaine?
Because I bring an unusual combination of experience to the room.
-
Award-winning musician.
-
TEDx speaker.
-
Educator and former university lecturer.
-
Wellbeing practitioner and yoga teacher.
-
Coach.
-
Creative Health practitioner.
-
Business and HR professional.
-
Founder and creator of The Life Compass™.
But the list isn't really the point.
What matters is how those experiences come together.
I've spent much of my life moving between worlds — business and creativity, performance and education, body and mind, achievement and recovery.
I've experienced major change personally as well as professionally.
And I've learned that people rarely need another person standing at the front of the room pretending to have all the answers.
They need someone who can hold the room, make complex things understandable, create connection and offer a different way of seeing things.
That's the kind of work I want to do.
A partnership should feel human
I don't believe organisations need more wellbeing language for the sake of it.
Perhaps what is really needed are experiences useful, thoughtful and appropriate to the people they are trying to support.
So I start by listening and noticing.
What is happening?
Who are the people involved?
What are they navigating?
What would genuinely be useful?
What already exists?
And what might be missing?
From there, we can work out what makes sense.
Sometimes that's a talk.
Sometimes it's a workshop.
Sometimes it's music.
Sometimes it's movement.
Sometimes it's a series of experiences.
And sometimes it's an idea that neither of us has quite imagined yet.
That's the point of a partnership.
We don't have to arrive with every answer.
We just need to be willing to have the conversation.
Create Something Meaningful Together
You may already know exactly what you're looking for.
Or you may simply know that you want to offer your people something different, thoughtful and worthwhile.
Perhaps you're looking for:
A speaker.
A wellbeing workshop.
A yoga or embodied wellbeing experience.
A creative-health project.
A community collaboration.
A bespoke programme.
Or a longer-term partnership.
Tell me about your people, your place, your idea — or the challenge you're trying to solve.
We'll start there.
Calm the water | Find your rhythm | Navigate life more consciously
Let's begin a conversation.

Wellbeing support that’s practical, human and grounded.
Supporting small businesses and sole traders.
Shared Values Matter
The best partnerships are built on more than a good idea.
Values matter.
They shape how people work, how organisations make decisions and, ultimately, the kind of culture they create.
They matter to me too.
The Life Compass™ is built around five core values. They are not decorative words on a website. They are the principles I use to guide my work, my relationships and the way I choose to grow.
INTEGRITY
Do what we say. Say what we mean. Be honest about what is possible.
I believe trust is built through transparency, consistency and doing good work for the right reasons.
FREEDOM
Create space for choice, autonomy and different ways of being.
People are not identical, and neither are organisations. I value approaches that give people room to think, participate and find what works for them rather than prescribing a single way forward.
CREATIVITY
Stay curious. Think differently. Make space for possibility.
Creativity isn't an add-on to my work. It is part of how I approach problems, communicate ideas and develop experiences that people remember.
CONNECTION
Put people and relationships at the heart of the work.
Meaningful change rarely happens in isolation. I value empathy, collaboration, listening and genuine human connection — with participants, partners, colleagues and communities.
MEANINGFUL CONTRIBUTION
Make the work matter.
I want the things I create to be useful, worthwhile and capable of leaving something positive behind — whether that is a moment of connection, a new perspective, a practical tool or the beginning of something bigger.
What this means in practice
These values influence the partnerships I choose and the way I work within them.
I'm interested in working with organisations that care about:
-
people as human beings, not simply as employees, participants or audiences
-
sustainable wellbeing rather than quick fixes
-
meaningful engagement rather than box-ticking
-
creativity as a genuine way of connecting and learning
-
inclusion, accessibility and different lived experiences
-
relationships built on trust and mutual respect
-
work that has a purpose beyond simply delivering an activity
That doesn't mean we have to see everything in exactly the same way.
It means there is enough common ground to create something worthwhile together.
If the way you work reflects some of these principles, there may be a very good conversation to have.
