NEWSLETTER #5
23rd October 2019
Hello! How's everyone?
OK. This just got real. Literally. It feels more than a little surreal to be able to announce that the my first ever release is out in the world now available for pre-order! woohoo!

DEBUT SINGLE:
TROUBLE
PRE-ORDER NOW!

It's been so long in the making and I cannot wait to share the album version with you all!

This song is a bit like a 'shop window' of what you can expect from the album itself from the perspective of the arrangements, excellent musicianship and production.

You can read the lyrics and the story behind the song here (scroll down to after the 'Story behind: In Songs We Live On') .

I will also be posting clips from our time in the studio on Socials so if you are on-line please follow to keep up to date!

Thanks to all those who have been liking and sharing the posts on Socials so far - it's invaluable to me as an independent artist to be able to reach and connect with as many people as I can with the songs and you are helping me achieve that! xx

A 'Thank You' shout-out to AmericanaUK for the review of my performance at the Glasgow Americana Festival this month where I performed the single 'Trouble' live:

'Lennon recalled some of the classic singer songwriters from the past with echoes of Janis Ian, Dory Previn and even Nina Simone hovering around, the latter especially evident on the bluesy ‘Trouble‘.

SO WHAT ELSE HAS BEEN HAPPENING?

It's been a busy month so far getting the single and album ready for digital release.
I've also opened a new Instagram page 'ElaineLennonMusic' which I will use in addition to my other page 'lennonsworld' to focus more on sharing the journey and lessons learned so far on the run up to my debut album release as an independent artist.
I performed at Warren Starry Skies 7 Song Club alongside the amazing Jason McNiff and the wonderful Remedy Club. This was part of a superb lineup at this year's Glasgow Americana Festival.
It was great to see there and chat with some of the people who have signed up to the mailing list too - thanks for coming to say hi and for supporting live music!

UPCOMING LIVE EVENTS

I'm thrilled to say I have that in addition to some great live music events, I have also been invited to share my musical story so far in a TEDx talk at TEDWomen2019. I have always been a fan and have learned so much over the years from TEDtalks and am honoured to have this platform to share my stories and hopefully connect with and inspire others in some way.

To find out more about this event along with my performances with Gary Quinn and Katee Kross to open for US Country Star William Michael Morgan, the pioneering 'Songwriters Uncovered Series' in Greenock, Blair Coron's 'Piu" event and Michael McMillan's Songwriters' Circle click here.

REVIEWS THIS MONTH
"Led by Elaine Lennon, the Acoustic Jam Session was electrifying. While it will be Cam that steals the headlines for doing Cam things, it was the session that was the true highlight of the festival" - Maverick Magazine (Millport Country Music Festival Review 2019)

'Lennon recalled some of the classic singer songwriters from the past with echoes of Janis Ian, Dory Previn and even Nina Simone hovering around, the latter especially evident on the bluesy ‘Trouble‘. ‘Only Love Can Break Your Heart‘ (her song, not Neil’s) was a bedsit song in the best fashion while her closing number ‘By Your Side‘ was a touching ballad which just begs to be picked up by radio or covered by a major balladeer.’ - AmericanaUK (on her performance at Glasgow Americana Festival 2019)

You can read the review of the entire Glasgow Americana Festival on the AmericanaUK website here.
