About the Event

2019 Celtic Connections Danny Kyle Stage Winner Elaine Lennon will be joined by Nashville–based Grammy-Nominated recording artist and Grammy-Winning songwriter Michael Logen and lead singer of Glasgow sextet ‘James Edwyn & the Borrowed Band’ James Edwyn. This intimate ‘Songwriters Round’ experience will allow you to enjoy performances of songs by those who wrote them as well as interpretations of songs that have inspired them. Be prepared to laugh and (possibly) cry as they bare heart and soul sharing stories behind their own original songs.

A regular at Nashville’s ‘The Bluebird Café’, Michael Logen’s unique Americana sound has had him opening for such artists as John Hiatt, John Legend, Jonny Lang and India Arie. His songs can be heard on many popular shows including "Nashville" and "SUITS"... He has appeared on Radio’s Bob Harris' "Under The Apple Tree Sessions" and his songs have been recorded by artists like Sam Palladio, Clare Bowen, Kelly Clarkson, Paul Carrack, Will Hoge, Ashley Monroe, Jonny Lang, Mat Kearney, Sister Hazel …

"Logen performed songs he wrote with Maren Morris and for Kelly Clarkson, and the audience was gripped. As a solo songwriter or collaborator, whatever he’s doing he’s certainly doing it right." - Country Music Magazine UK.

"An album of beautifully crafted songs – well written, well sung, well played and very well produced." - Americana UK

Glasgow Singer-Songwriter Elaine Lennon is turning heads with her tapestry of Americana, Country, folk, jazz and blues music, full of powerful imagery and nostalgia, with strong, catchy, memorable melodic lines, great hooks and a vocal that is emotive and believable. Nashville Songwriters Association International’s 'One to Watch' she has performed at Celtic Connections and ‘Country on the Clyde’ (part of the ‘Country 2 Country’ Festival). Likened to Carole King, Melody Gardot, Adele, Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon and Lori McKenna, Elaine is working on her debut album with Award Winning Findlay Napier and Paul Savage.

“Elaine has mastered the knack of creating original beautifully crafted songs, branded with her own unique sound, while evoking the distinct sensation you have been listening to her music all of your life!”- Findlay Napier.

Lead singer of Glasgow sextet ‘James Edwyn & the Borrowed Band’, James Edwyn will perform an acoustic set of the Band’s music - a mix of alt-country, indie/folk rock and roots orientated Americana. Singles ‘Passing San Ysidro’ and ‘Pushing Statues’, from the Band’s 2018 L.P. ‘High Fences’ have enjoyed significant radio play across the BBC. The Band have played a number of main stages at Festivals, showcased at Celtic Connections and UK Americana Music Association festival in London, King Tuts New Year’s Revolution and performed at Country 2 Country Glasgow. In November they played the first headline London show at The Slaughtered Lamb. They are currently working on their third studio album.

Praise for High Fences: "9/10 - THE FIRST GREAT ALBUM OF 2018!" - Americana UK.

"A PERFECT PERFORMANCE" - Maverick Magazine.
